There is nothing like the fun of kids on a slip & slide at Christmas time. Take that!!
There’s just something about the soft whiteness of a magnolia bud. It oozes purity to me, although the perfect creamy whiteness doesn’t usually last more than a day once the bud opens up. This bud is from the Magnolia little gem in our front garden.
A miserable, rainy summer day and I find myself home early for a change. What better thing to do than go for a wander around the yard looking for things to shoot? This was my pick of my shots, but I might have to post another one or two later this week. All I can say about this one is simplicity is the key to success!
On my way back to my room late one night, I walked past one of the many water features in Darling Harbour and it was all lit up. The colours changed with time and they looked great. I captured this with John’s little point & shoot, so a pretty good result, considering. I hope the kids on school camp get to see some of this stuff!
This was one of a few cascades in the Chinese Gardens in Darling Harbour. I was very disappointed not to have my tripod to do a really nice long exposure. I did my best to keep the camera stable with my hands and a big rock!
It was late one afternoon down at Lake Macquarie, and Kyle & I were down near the jetty where there were 3 ducks floating about looking for food. This white & black one was, I thought, quite striking. The afternoon light was perfect.
Ethan was very upset when Polly was blown into Lake Macquarie today. We assured him he loved it and he was just a bit hot – he is a Polar Bear after all 🙂
I have seen the pump house at the ocean baths completely engulfed by the sea with waves crashing over it, so I was excited that the morning I chose to shoot sunrise it was low tide! I was able to choose exactly the angle and distance I wanted to shoot from, rather than being limited by the ocean! I love the feeling of solitude it conveys.
As the sun rose the tide was on its way in, and the ocean pool was slowly being filled by nature. The reflections in the pool were simply amazing.
This is the last water splash I’m going to post for now. I had to include one of the water exploding upwards after the fruit impacts. I truly could have shot these images all afternoon just to get that good feeling when you finally capture the exact frame you were after!
