Day 358/365: She’ll Be Apples

For the first time our apple tree is fruiting. Hopefully they will still be there until they ripen and the birds don’t get them!

Day 347/365: Bursting Blossoms

This eucalyptus tree in our front garden is just filled with buds waiting to burst into bloom. I captured some part-burst yesterday afternoon. They are perfectly, symmetrically packed into each bud. Oh, to have a macro lens to get up close to these little gems…

Day 345/365: Watch Out for the Redback!

You never know what you will find down at Con’s place, my very artistic neighbour. This red back is always lurking around somewhere, this time down near the robots, back in the bushes!

Watch Out for the Redback: Nikon D7000; f5.3; 1/100; ISO 1000

Day 342/365: Home Away from Home

Another of my neighbour’s creations. I am so lucky to live in Vacy Downs where I don’t need to worry about the unthinkable happening!! Check out the detail…

Day 341/365: Sculptured Vision

My neighbour, whom I have blogged about before in my Eclectic Echidna post, is a spectacular metal artist. He recycles all sorts of stuff to create some really fantastic & interesting sculptures. This is another of his creations which resides in the very front corner of his property to greet visitors. The eyes of a robot….

Recycled Robot: Nikon D7000; f4.2; 1/200; ISO 500

Day 336/365: Clouds Roll In

A quick & fun iPhone shot tonight. I am loving my iPhone 4 & I’m really starting to explore all the new aspects of Instagram. So not technically stunning, just a bit of fun tonight as the clouds roll in over Vacy.

Clouds Roll In: iPhone 4; processed in Instagram

Day 332/365: Marching Ant

I noticed these ants heading up a tree this afternoon and thought they could be OK to shoot, but instead of freezing them in action I wanted to capture their movement. So I have panned with the ant. I am pretty happy with this result, out of all my shots(heaps of them!), with the body fairly focussed but the extremities still showing movement. I think the different coloured bark adds interest too.

Marching Ant: Nikon D7000; f13; 1/25; ISO 200

Day 331/365: Afternoon Glow

This wasn’t the exact shot I had in mind when I went out for a walk yesterday with all my boys & the puppies, and it’s technically not the best shot, but I love it anyway. I especially love the glow the sunlight has left around John, Kody & Juno.

Afternoon Glow: Nikon D7000; f5; 1/250; ISO 100

Day 322/365: Misty Mountains

Yesterday on my way home, the fog caught my eye. Little clumps of white stretched across the green mountains. Another vision from Vacy!

Rusty: Nikon D7000; f4; 1/200; ISO 100

Day 321/365: Rusty

This is part of the gate down at the church in Vacy. Love the rust & the flaky paint!
