It was late one afternoon down at Lake Macquarie, and Kyle & I were down near the jetty where there were 3 ducks floating about looking for food. This white & black one was, I thought, quite striking. The afternoon light was perfect.
I found one more sunrise image that I wanted to put up on the blog, mainly because the silhouettes of Kyle & John are in the foreground. I guess sentiment never fails!
I just had to capture one of the sailboats in silhouette on the lake at sunrise. It looked so peaceful and relaxed.
I love using natural things in a scene to frame a shot, and trees are the usual suspects! These two were perfect for framing our gorgeous morning by the lake. As usual you can click the image for a larger view.
I have to apologise if I am boring anyone with all these photos of Lake Macquarie. But the fact is, I had such a wonderful time with my camera there, and have so many shots that I love! It’s the first time I’ve actually got up early for the sole purpose of a shoot, and also the first time I’ve played with long exposures. So here are the birds on the jetty at sunrise, the golden hour! I hope you like it as much as I do.
Kyle sat watching the sun rise with a hot milo. Just a gorgeous sight to see & capture 🙂
This photo was actually taken around dusk. The colour in the sky was amazingly subtle. I also experimented with using fill flash again and I’m liking the results! I like the fact that I got a natural smile out of Kyle – he is at the stage of giving a terrible cheesy grin directly at the camera!
I just love this image of Ethan and his Polar bear “Polly”. Ethan just loves him to bits, and you can tell from the dirty state of the white bear. But best friends don’t care about appearances, do they? I have also discovered the joys of fill-flash! Two hundred days in & I’m loving this journey…
Another of my favourite Instagram shots from Lake Macquarie. Sweet sailing…
Another Instagram, this time of a sailboat. Waiting patiently on the shore of the lake for someone to take it out on the water…
