A quick & fun iPhone shot tonight. I am loving my iPhone 4 & I’m really starting to explore all the new aspects of Instagram. So not technically stunning, just a bit of fun tonight as the clouds roll in over Vacy.
I raced down the fire escape tonight after work and was hit with this amazing sky when I came out. It was so hot & humid, and it was just starting to spit with rain. It was the calm before the storm!
After a hot day, a storm was rolling into Vacy tonight. I was trying to capture the lightning strikes but was unsuccessful. There is an art to lightning photos. But I did capture this last little bit of colour in the sky before the dark gloomy clouds engulfed it!
The first afternoon I arrived in Sydney for my conference I went for a walk around Darling Harbour. The atmosphere is always pretty magical down there on a Sunday afternoon, and this day was no exception with the sun setting behind the buildings.
There is a storm brewing, but luckily it has blown around us. The sailing club was loving the wind.
I took a closer shot of the clouds yesterday morning during sunrise. It was just glorious.
The sunrise this morning was so breathtaking, it was easy to know what to post for today. Here it is in all it’s glory.
I love the colour scheme of the Ocean Baths, and the scheme is continued out here on the bluey-green concrete steps that run along one side of the pool. The lines of the step lead you right around to the rest of the detail in the photo. Standing there was so quiet & relaxing with the ocean the only sound reaching my ears.
I was a little disappointed when I got to the Ocean Baths and saw how cloudy the sky was. However, I figured some good cloud always provides interest in an image, and there was some good cloud, but some murky boring cloud. So it was just a matter of trying to frame creatively to make the most of what nature had provided. At least it wasn’t raining! This was when the sun was still very low, probably just on or near to bursting over the horizon. The pink colour was trying it’s hardest to get through with the clouds softening the burst. I do like the light coming from behind me too, highlighting my frame very nicely!
I’ll start by saying I’m not really a morning person. John was outside feeding the chooks and came back in saying how gorgeous the sunrise was. I didn’t really want to get up, get the camera, put shoes & a jacket on, but he did a good job of guilting me into it! And what a reward I now have! It was a foggy morning and the light was soft and subtle coming through the clouds. Who wouldn’t love waking up to this? So perhaps I will slowly become more of a morning person to capture views like this one.
