A 365 Day Project

Day 306/365: Abstract

I stopped on my way home last night to shoot a tree full of white birds. I think they are some kind of egret but don’t quote me! Anyway, it was very low light and I didn’t have a tripod with me so I braced the camera as best I could on a fence post. Not surprisingly the image lacked sharpness and if it was only an hour earlier the light would probably have been amazing. I played around with it though and upon cropping I came up with this rather abstract photo. Instead of trying to disguise the noise and movement (which would be impossible), I suppose I have actually enhanced it to create a rather painterly effect. I know it will not be to all tastes, but I don’t mind it for something a little different, and that’s what’s good about doing a blog for yourself – I only have me to please and anyone else that enjoys what I do is a bonus! A really nice one I might add!

Abstract: Nikon D7000; f5.3; 1/6; ISO 2000

  1. I like more abstract photos (check my blog post today. 🙂 ), and I like this. The effect of the white against he greens and the different textures, just cool. 🙂

    • Thanks, I was of 2 minds whether to post it or not because it really isn’t the kind of thing I usually do!
